Iraq: Extending the Range of FROG-7 Battlefield Rockets
Iraq has nearly doubled the range of its FROG-7 battlefield rockets, according to the
declaration it provided in December The refurbished rocket can deliver
its 420-kg payload to a range of about 130 km, according to the declaration. Iraq could lighten
the FROG-7 payload to reach more distant targets.

Mr. John Hannifin, Time Magazine
1. On Friday, 20 October, the Director received a telephone
call from Mr. John Hennifin of Time magazine. Mr. Hennifin said
that, as Time's investigator into the Watergate case, he had devel-
oped a name who might be working for CIA, in which case the Agency
would be very directly connected with the Watergate case. He asked

Did we have any other dealings with Liddy while he was in
Treasury or the White House?
RESPONSE:
We did not have any prior dealings with George Gordon Liddy
in an operational sense. Our records do reflect, however, that in
December 1969 security action was initiated to grant Liddy a number
of Agency special clearances in connection with his employment by
the Department of the Treasury. At that time Liddy was listed as a
