1. More detailed and comprehensive reporting
based on prisoner interrogations is beginning to come
in concerning the strategy and objectives of the

1. UK views on Hong Kong aircraft--US Embassy London
has been informed by the UK Minister of State for For-
eigh Affairs that he is not sanguine about the chances
for a favorable British response to the strong US pro-
test against British acquiescence to the removal by
Chinese Communists of aircraft parts (and ultimately
the aircraft) now under litigation in Hong Kong. The�

1. ITALY: Comparison of French-Italian Communist propaganda-- dp9/S
US Embassy Rome, in pointing out the similarities and differences
in the "peace" propaganda of the Italian Communist Party and
that of the French Communists, notes that the Italian Communists

1. Government reported to be near panic�US Ambassador
Muccio reports from the Southern Korean Government's
provisional capital at Taejon that the situation in South
Korea is rapidly deteriorating. Muccio expressed the
opinion,after prolonged consultation with top Korean
leaders, that he could "hold them in line a little longer"

1. US concerned over lessened German cooperation-,-The
Department of State has expressed to US High Commis-
ioner McCloy its concern over indications from several
sources that the Germans have recently taken a less co-
operative attitude in negotiations on the Schuman Plan,

ened by the apparent eagerness of the Western Powers to
