MEMORANDUM FOR: The Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT: Attached FBI Report
1. On the afternoon of 26 March, General Smith called me on
the telephone and asked if I would drop over to his office. Upon
arrival, he showed me a letter addressed to him personally signed
by Mr. John Edgar Hoover. This correspondence was identical with
the letter addressed to yeu, herewith attached, except that in a
last paragraph Mr. Hoover wrote that the only other recipient of
