How to access the documents
From 1946 through 1950, the Office of Reports and Estimates, a predecessor of the current Directorate of Intelligence, produced reports on selected free world countries in addition to those on the Soviet Union and international communism. The reports on free world countries were reviewed for declassification as part of the Agency's voluntary declassification program. To date, nearly 100 reports on free world countries have been released in their entirety.
An index of the reports on free world countries released to the National Archives is provided below, arrayed by year of publication. Click on the year desired to view those published during that 12-month period.
