DCIA Welcomes Liz Lyons as Director of Public Affairs
Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe announced today the appointment of Liz Lyons to lead CIA’s Office of Public Affairs. Ms. Lyons brings substantial expertise in government and communications. She assumed responsibility for internal and external communications for CIA effective February 7th.
Prior to joining CIA, Ms. Lyons developed and implemented successful communications strategies in a variety of government positions. She served as a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor to the Counsel to the President during the first Trump Administration, helping lead media strategies for the confirmations of three Supreme Court Justices. While at the White House, she also led efforts to develop public-private partnerships that provided critical aid to small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, Ms. Lyons served as the Communications Director for the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
“Having known Liz for several years, I am truly excited to have her guiding our communications with the media, the public, and the workforce,” said Director Ratcliffe.
