liquid ammonia Is just as effective as Naa-
At the same time, the production of liquid
ammonia is considerably cheaper, because
the operations to oxidize it to HN03, to
saturate it with ammonia gas for the ob-
tainment Of hlaa, etc., become unnecessary,
The experiments by SoyuzNIKhI also confirmed
the preeminence of ammoniated Ps over the
ordinary one. At its introduction under the
cotton plant, it increased the harvest in
comparison with Ps by 2 c/ha. The weak
assimilation pf Pfl is explained, in
particularp by the fact that a considerable
part of P In it Is connocted with F. By
removing F from itp the P accessibility is

ABSTRACT: An International exhibition with the theme "Facilities for
mechanization of engineering-technical and administrative-managerial
tasks" was held in Moscow in September 1966. The Soviet exhibit
featured digital and analog compuversp puncheard equipmentp manual
input equipment, 1/0 devices, information storage devices, and control
equipment. The specifications for these are as follows:
1) Ural-11 digital comouter system operating on binary and decimal
numbers at a rate of 50,000 additions/see or 25,000 multiplications/Sec.
The system, depending on its makeup, may have a magnetic memory with
capacity of 4096-16,384 24-bit words, read-only memory with 1024-8192
words, magnetic drum storage with 98,000-399,000 word capacity, and a
magnetic tape file memory capable of storing 1-8 million words. The

data may be entered at the input or delivered at the output by punch-
cards, perforated tapes, magnetic tapes, direct communication channels
to sensors and regulators, a printer, and a plotter. The Input and
output speeds are 18oo and 150 decimal digtts/sOc for puncheard and
1000 and 20 decimal di Its/see for perforated tape equipment, respee
tively. 9
2) BESM-4 general purpose digital computer system (see Fig. 1) con-
sisting of several units Interconnected by cables. The binary number

electric transport of the impurity, the characteristic tine, and the

ABSTRACT: In this work the authors study the diffusion of Cd and Sn in liquid
Bi; Sn in liquid Pb, and Co in liquid-Sn in order to compare experimental results
with theoretical conclusions concerning the diffusion of atoms in liquid m,!tals in
a broad temperature range. The diffusiontioefficients were determined 1) the
capillary method with the use of radioactive isotopes SdI15, SnIL3, and COZO. The
results of measuring the diffusion coefficients showed that the average dispersion
of the measurements was 1116 . The temperature dependence of the diffusion co-
efficients in the systems studied by the authors deviate appreciably from ex-
ponential, which is in contrast to the data in the literature ard is ascribed to the
broader temperature range used by the authors. An interesting fact revcaled was
the marked difference of the diffusion coefficients of Sn and Sd in liquid Bi, ca-

pecially at high temperatures, e.g., at 900C the cadmium-atoms-diffused 5 times
more quickly than the tin a6voms. This contradicted the assertion made in the
literature that the coefficients of diffusion of various admixtures in a given solvent
are similar. The authors conclude that for more definite conclusions on the
mechanisms of the diffusion of atoms in liquid metals a further accumulation of
experimental data is needed. Orig. art. has: 5 tables, 2 figures, and 2 formulas.

TEXT: Proceeding from the fact that, at small angles of slide, the focus-
ing projection of X-ray tubes assumes the shape of a narrow slit, It I,- shown to
be suitable to use the focusing projection of ordinary X-ray tuboz; for taking
radiographs. To determine the range of applicability of slitless X-ray radio-
graphy, the additional broadening of radiographic lines In the conversion from
ordinary to slitless X-ray radiography was calculated. The maximum of the radio-
graphic lines is not di3placed on the conversion to the slitleGo technique. The
method under consideration permits the time-of exposure to be reduced by 10-15
Umes. When microbeam pictures are to be taken, conical-shaped collimators with
the cone vertex pointing to the specimen are suggested for use instead of narrow
