1, In March 1947 the Chinese Communists sent about 6,000 troops from the fiangyehmiao
area to Tunghua (125-57, 41-43) for artillery training. The training period was
expected to last for six months. 25X1X6
2. In the various Mongol Banners within Chinese Communist territory, men between the
ages of 18 and 30 are being conscripted for basic military training. It is estimated
that there will be about 45?000 impressed into service. These men will be used to
replace thc:.e Chinese Communist troops who are known to have once served under MA
Chan-shan.
. 3. Groups of armed Mongols totaling about 4,U00 men, who were stationed in the Aershan
(12017, 47-12), Buir Nor, Solon (121-24,, 46-41) and Manohouli (1:I7-27, 49-26) areas.
have been transferred to Hannan (123->27, 47-56), Puhs.i (124-29, 413-33) and Noho
(124.61,. 4829),, In their place are three regiments of the Heilungohiang Provincial
Peoples' Allied Army,. The officers and men of these ur:its are Northeasterners who
cooperated with the Chinese Communist Army after the surrender.
