Argentine Interior Minister Harguindeguy called in the Associated
Press Buenos Aires bureau chief this week, apparently to warn
him to be careful in the pursuit of human rights stories. The
former editor of La Opinion, Jacob Timmerman, meanwhile, was
placed under the Institutional Responsibility Act. This means
that he loses all civil rights and can be held in jail indefinitely.
For the second consecutive week the government confiscated an
issue of the weekly newspaper Correo de la Semana.
