Argentina
An armed hijacker commandeered a
Uruguayan jetliner on a flight
between Colonia, Uruguay, and
Buenos Aires. He held the crew
and two passengers hostage after
having released' 37 other passen-
gers unharmed. The Uruguayan
demanded to be flown to Cuba,
Algeria, Mexico, Nicaragua
Libya.. One woman hostage was
wounded during the 18-hour ordeal;
however, the others were released
unharmed, and the hijacker surren-
dered to Argentine authorities.
He was armed with a small caliber
pistol and what he claimed was a
