2. LOCATION: 29 NM NORTH OF OMSK AND 2 NM SOUTH OF GORNAYA
THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE DIFFUSER AT TEST STAND
NO 2 BRINGS THIS TEST FACILITY INTO LINE WITH
ALL THE OTHER SOVIET TEST FACILITIES WHICH HAVE
2 TEST STANDS. THIS GIVES THE OMSK FACILITY AN
ALTITUDE SIMULATION TEST CAPABILITY; BUT UNLIKE
THE VORONEZH, KRASNOYARSK, AND PERM TEST FACILITIES,
WHICH ALSO HAVE ALTITUDE SIMULATION TEST STANDS, THE
OMSK ALTITUDE STAND IS LARGE BY COMPARISON. THIS TEST
STAND HAS BEEN UNDER'CONSTRUCTION SINCE LATE 1962 AND
APPEARS EXTERNALLY COMPLETE BUT NOT OPERATIONAL.
THE TEST FACILITY ITSELF APPEARED OPERATIONAL IN
MID-1963 WHEN A BLAST SCAR WAS FIRST OBSERVED AT TEST
STAND NO 1. TEST STAND NO 1 IS SIMILAR TO BOTH TEST

STAND NO 1 IS APPARENTLY COMPLETE. NO NEW EVIDENCE OF TEST ACTIVITY OR MISSILES
90 FT IN DIAMETER HAS BEEN ERECTED ON A CONCRETE PAD EAST OF THE WATER TOWER.
ONE (POSSIBLY 2) SMALL BUILDING AND A MEDIUM-SIZED STRUCTURE ADJACENT TO THE
CIRCULAR CONFIGURATION HAVE APPARENTLY BEEN COMPLETED. A SIMILAR BUT LARGER
CIRCULAR STRUCTURE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION NEAR THE ZAGORSK ROCKET ENGINE TEST
FACILITY, KRASNOZAVODSK. PREVIOUSLY REPORTED CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY AT TEST
