MEMORANDUM FOR: Executive Director, NPIC
SUBJECT : Progress Status - Ground Forces OB Study: Trans Baikal,
Siberian, and Ural Military Districts
All PID target studies are transmitted on a weekly basis to the Deputy
IPO/PAG for dissemination. A weekly summary status report is forwarded to
the Chief, GMD/PAG.
1. A total of 233 referenced installations have been reviewed for
determination of ground force association in all three assigned areas.
Of these targets, approximately 15 installations have been analysed by
recent reports.
2. Sixty-three (63) targets have been confirmed from all three areas.
a. 46 target study reports have been completed in draft form.
b. 62 line drawings have been prepared.
c. 17 targets are under current study.
d. Lists of negated targets are being prepared for each district.
3. All targets have been assigned to the responsible analysts.
4. Status of completion:
a. PI area scan:
(1) Trans Baikal - 90% of area. Estimate 7-10% weather
holiday.
(2) Ural - 100% of area.
(3)
Siberian - 80% of area. Estimate 15-20% weather and
coverage holiday.
