Approved For Release 2003/01/28 : CIA-RDP78B0477Q 002000020001-8 The Advanced 918 Light Table Prototype is being designed from specifications derived from the experimental STAT light tables. The Advanced 918 features, a bi-directional mechanical film drive, which will allow the operator to precisely control the movement of the film with only one handztheel; an electric film drive for constant speed scanning and rapid film rewind; an improved illumination system whose intensity can be varied for the viewing of lighter or d'trker film; an adjustable mask for eliminating stray light; and a r..eq, positive locking tilt mechanism to replace the crude ball joint presently used to adjust the tables position.
