SUBJECT: Conversation with
NSA, 9 July 1973
1. I called. NSA, and told him I had seen
Bill IIogan, .House Armed Services Committee staff, on the Hill
today and Hogan said NSA had mentioned the contact with the Agency
and that had suggested Hagan contact them.
2. Hogan told Buffum that ever said anything t-o him
about NSA. I said I told Hogan he had a communication problem --
that had a note in the file that he had told Hogan to contact
Hogan said he didn't recall it but he couldn't deny it. ? I to).d
that I also talked to Chairman Lucien Nedzi, Special Subcommittee
on Intelligence, House Armed Services Committee, about this:

Allen went up and briefed Nedzi fully on NSA, but they have not been
going up since the inquiry issue started. I told DI would keep 25X1
in constant touch with Nedzi and Jack Boos alt.haugh the Director didn't
think it appropriate far him to contact them while the Select Committee
issue was under consideration.
