2. (Confidential - PLC) Called Mike Telson, House Budget
Committee staff, and confirmed arrangements far OCI, to 25X1A
brief him tomorrow, 22 May 1975, at 2:00 p.m, on energy sources in
Venezuela and Mexico in connection with Telson's upcoming trip to
Central and South America under the auspices of the State Department.

the office of Senator Alan Cranston (D. , Calif. ), who inquired as to the
status of a Freedom of Information request from a constituent,
After checking, I called lanucci back and explained that the
spelling of the constituent's name had been given to us previously as
Ianucci said this was in error and understood that this in effect:
would become a new case since all checks would have to be re-run. under
the corrected name. The Freedom of Information Coordinator was alerted
to this.

requesting that we handle a call he had received from Skip Spenceley, on the
House Merchant Marine and Fisheries Subcommittee on. Fisheries and Wildlife.
Conservation and the Environment. Spenceley asked for a briefing on the
impact upon the Japanese economy if all Japanese exp-orts to the U. S. were Cu t:
off. The information was needed in connection with pending legislation which wool,
direct such action in retaliation if the Japanese whaling industry continues to
isre a.r--d whaling conservation. I told Sabler I would handle the call.

Vietnamese national. The letter had been written just prior to the downfall
if the South Vietnam Government. The constituent asked that the letter be
sent to him through the Senator's office. Highbough said it would be forwarded.
