Approved For Release 2007/10/23: CIA-RDP76-00183R000100030025-4 DIARY NOTES 11 June 1954 1. I Thad released to me a cable from == which concerned one of 25X1 our auditors and p nted out that th indicator had -been used improperly. 25X1 I have instructed to see that the auditor and his family are returns to the es ?a a and have asked to fol- 25X1 low up on the improper use of the F___]indicator. 2. Reviewed with Ed Saunders notes which had been submitted by various of- fices in connection with Mr. Dulles' meeting with next week, Told Ed 25X1 to get the notes in final form and to present them to me on Tuesday. 3. Doctors Tietjen and =were over to brief me on the revised Personal In- dex Questionnaire which, I believe, has been modified sufficiently to be accept- able. However, I will read it and give them an answer as soon as I can. 4. I also discussed with Dr. Tietjen his apparent disagreements with the Office of Personnel with reference to the amount of medical information which he is being requested to furnish. I think that this can all be ironed out but that it will require at least one more session with him and Harry Reynolds. 25X1 25X1 5. of about brought in FI Project (invo lving the transfer in which I concurred, ~-h 25X1 6. I (brought over a Project which is sponsored jointly by the Security Office and the FE Division and which involves about Q most of 25X1 which will come out of Fiscal Year 1954 money. It is an "ARTICHOKE-type" project in which I concurred. The cryptonym is QKHILLTOP. 7. Bob Lefebvre of the GPO-State Service Plant located in South Building telephoned to attempt to needle me into pushing the Joint Committee on Printing into action with reference to CIA taking over the South Building Plant. He said that he knew from other sources that the main GPO Plant Was trying to set up a big security printing establishment and was afraid his job might be moved and consoli- dated within the new plant. I told him that I appreciated his calling and that if any such move was made I wished he would quote me as saying that I would like to be consulted before the plan went too far. I also told him that I would call Paul Beach sometime next week and inquire as to whether or not the Joint Committee on Printing was going to do anything about this consolidation problem. However, the Approved For Release 2007/10/23: CIA-RDP76-00183R000100030025-4 Approved For Release 2007/10/23: CIA-RDP76-00183R000100030025-4 more that I consider the matter, and after further discussion with Jim Garrison, the more I realize the tight rape we are walking, and I certainly do not want to do anything which might precipitate the ill feelings between the JCP, GPO, and CIA groups. B. Discussed with General Cabell the request of the Office of the Deputy Director (Plans) for changes in its table of organization, pointing out that the request had not been processed in accordance with Regulations. General Cabell made it clear that he did not wish to exempt the DD/P complex from compliance with the Regulations but stated that he hoped we could work out the situation with them in a way that would make it as painless as possible until they had learned to accept the idea better. I told him that I would try to work this out with Approved For Release 2007/10/23: CIA-RDP76-00183R000100030025-4 Approved For Release 2007/10/23: CIA-RDP76-00183R000100030025-4 `A-PD/A Amp 94 O*f;ne '?: ` q - DD/ A Suh 1 MY ehrn"O, 54-DD/A ?/A DAILY ACTIC1 SUMMARY ?T3 e iO* Mh.i+r rt Memorandum for Comrrt.rt ' 1 er, math iact "Mnlor Program Objectivan for F'i scaa.l.
