OGI, in my view, may be too optimistic about
the entire LDC/Comecon debt situation (NID,
10 May 1982). Questions which might be answered
with the LA data they have:
(1) What is the total world refinancing
need in 1982?
(2) What is the total Latin American refinancing
need in 1982?
(3) What is the total exposure of US banks in
Latin America?
Note that the April 1981 analysis attached
offers an alternative emphasis view of possible
dangers which the DCI might find of interest.
