DCI/DDCI-Assigned Tasks
OSWR/TTAC drafted information on US export control positions for the SNIE on
European attitudes toward export controls and views on the upcoming COCOM HLM.
? In response to a DCI request, OGI prepared a typescript assessment of Qadhafi's
personality.
? EURA and OSWR provided material to the DDCI in preparation for his meeting
with Senator Quayle on Soviet BW/CW developments and NATO and INF issues.
? NFAC offices are preparing contributions to the DCI's upcoming Worldwide
Congressional Briefing.

? NESA provided a typescript memorandum, Western Sahara: Morocco's Political
and Military Dilemma, for Secretary Weinberger.

? Six ALA analysts attended a conference in New York on Namibia with academic
and business leaders.
? EURA provided State with a paper on Soviet economic leverage over Poland;
a copy was given to the Vice President, who praised it.
? In response to a request from Ambassador Kirkpatrick, OGI provided an
analysis of the threat to the independence of UN specialized agencies from Global
Negotiations.
? An analyst from EURA is visiting bankers in New York and Chicago this week
to discuss East European debt problems.
? On 4 December, EURA hosted a seminar and panel discussion on political
demography in the Iberian peninsula with the participation of outside experts and
other representatives from the Intelligence Community.
At the request of State, OGI's terrorism group reared an update of the
unclassified paper on international terrorism

? Next week SOVA will host a group of nine select academic advisors at a
