Dear Mr. Casey:
The Center for Law and National Security at the University
of Virginia School of Law is presenting a conference this fall
on the subject of the "United States - Soviet Union
Relationship: Prospects for the Future." The conference will
address the U.S. - Soviet relationship in an historical context.
We have planned panels on the Military Balance, Points of
Tension, SALT/START, Human Rights, INF/MBFR, and Trade. A copy
of the agenda and invited participants is attached. We hope
that you can attend.
The conference is scheduled for November 5-7, 1982 at the
Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia. A block of rooms
has been reserved at the Boar's Head Inn where the meeting will
take place. A registration form which includes costs and
arrangements for the program is attached; spouses and family
members are welcome to attend the conference as well.
We anticipate that the audience will consist of other
leaders from government, universities, and private law practice
and we hope that you will accept our invitation. If you will be
unable to attend or if you know of someone else in your
organization who would be interested in participating, please
feel free to extend hn to them. If you have any
