"Rio: An informant whose name is not revealed told a local evening paper
that the PCB (Brazil Communist Party) will organize 20 shock brigades
for the Federal district. He pointed out how the Communists in 3razil? as
throughout the world, are penetrating izrsiduously into schools, factories
and plantations, organizing in the Hit1ar fashion inexperienced youth into
party militia which will be utilized at an opportune moment, if necessary,
in face of the trend of events in the irericas.
"The informant added that the brigades will be distributed throughout the
country, thus not being circumscribed by the Federal district. Ile added
that he already knows that control over vehicles has begun in case; of
emergency. He also reported that all the military men who have automobiles
bicycles and trucks will be auto Ia ical y mobilized in case of necessity.
"The informant also declared that in conformit: mdth the decision of the
Communist Party of the United State-s, made the day after the speech byy
Truman, syndical regimentation and alignment in industries with bases in
South America, principally in Polivia a:ad Brazil, are being activated.
In case of war between the United States and Russia the sabotage thus
organized would spring into action and the United States will not be able
to count on South American industrial aid."
