1. As requested byl of the Legislative 25X1
Liaison Division (paragraph two of Reference), attached are copies
of Latin America Division's disseminated reports on Nicaraguan exile
activities from February to the present. It is our understanding
that, subject to the approval of the Deputy Director for Operations,
these reports will be hand-carried to the Hill by a LLD represen-
tative for review by House Permanent Select Committee on
Intelligence (HPSCI) staffers, after which the reports will be
returned to the Division.
2. The transcripts from the 9 December and 10 February HPSCI
hearings on Central America, requested in paragraph two of
Reference, were returned to you separately. These transcripts
are to be returned to the Committee.
3. Regarding paragraph one of Reference, we will have
available, if needed, the reporting that has been disseminated on
the Cuban's use of drug trafficking as a guise for running arms
for guerrillas in Latin America. Please be advised, however,
that part of the information was provided by Drug Enforcement
Agency sources and that little information is available beyond what
was reported in The New York Times article attached to Reference.
