John McMahon's confirmation hearings before the SSCI are now scheduled for Z6 May (closed) and 27 May (open) both at 10:30 a.m. (U) The Director is scheduled to appear before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on Monday, 24 May, at 2:00 p.m. Subject: Covert Action F_ I (C) Evan Hineman, Associate Deputy Director for Intelligence, is scheduled to appear before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Monday, 24 May, at 3:00 p.m. Subject: Strategic Arms Control. (C) The Deputy Director of Central Intelligence is scheduled to have break- fast with Senator Walter Huddleston on Thursday, 27 May, at 7:45 a.m. Subject: 1(U) 2. Public Affairs Division Media Event Public Affairs is expecting a request from Hugh Downs for a DCI`i-,1terview on "20/20" sometime during the week upcoming. (U) Publications Review Board Former Agency employee has appealed the Publications view 25X1 Board's security objection to his short story 25X1 I s taking issue with the PRB's objections to his use of cryp- 25X1 tonyms and a reference in his story to an official cover. The IG will now investigate the matter and make a recommendation to the DDCI.
