Intelligence Community Staff
-In response to D/DIA, coordinating a Community request for exception from GAO
examination of unvouchered funds records.
Directorate for Administration
-Public Affairs Branch moved to the 7-B corridor on 17 May.
-A 12 May Headquarters briefcase/package inspection surfaced six incidents of apparent
unauthorized removal of classified material.
-About 2,000 employees saw the documentary film "The KGB Connection," which will be
shown again in the Auditorium on 3 June.
-DDA briefed Jim Bush, HPSCI staff, on 20 May on SAFE.
-The DDA will meet with the SAFE Technical Advisory Board on 26 May.
Directorate for Operations - No report.
Deputy Director for Science and Technology
-ORD transferred the Crisis Management Automated Support System (CMASS), developed
for the Task Force Area, to DDI.

I f MIT conducted an OGI seminar on Tribalism in World Affairs.
-OSWR briefed Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Bryen on diversion of Western
technology from India to the U.S.S.R.
National Intelligence Council
-Acting NIO/WE participated in a roundtable seminar on Italian politics at Georgetown
University.
-NIO/NESA partcipated in an IG to consider U.S. options in the Gulf flowing from the
Iraq-Iran war.
Personnel
General Counsel
-The Conference Report on the Identities legislation has been filed and could be adopted
before the Memorial Day recess.
Inspector General - No report.
Comptroller
-The 20 May HAC hearing on our supplemental went well, and the Agency stands a good
chance of getting all of the funds requested.
Office of External Affairs
-Public Affairs is expecting a request for a DCI interview on "20/20."

DCID 1/19 - The Security Committee has resolved all outstanding
issues on draft revision of DCID 1/19 compartmented security
procedures. Formal Community coordination and DDCI/DCI approval
to be obtained soonest.
FY 1983 Budget Appeal - Draft appeal to FY'83 authorization in
coordination.
GAO Act of 1980 - In response to Director, DIA, request, the
ICS Is coordinating a Community request for exception from GAO
examination of records pertaining to unvouchered funds.
