Weekly Report
Intelligence Community Staff
-The Security Committee is preparing a damage assessment of intelligence information
leaks associated with the Falkland Islands situation.
Directorate for Administration
-Wang Laboratories, Inc., has been awarded a contract for the Agency standard word
processing system.
-GSA officials agreed to delegate to CIA the authority to prepare for construction in
support of the 4-C Project and also delegated responsibility for operating the power
plant on the Headquarters compound.
Directorate for Operations
Deputy Director for Science and Technology
-Considering a reorganization of NPIC that would consolidate all hardware and software
exploitation services, all upgrade and development activities, all program and budget
activities, and support and building services.
Deputy Director for Intelligence
-Briefed NSA representatives on DDI's terrorism effort.
-Briefed FDA and NIH delegates to the US-Japan Conference on Biotechnology.
-A joint DDI-DDO briefing team will attend the Versailles Summit.
-OSWR will brief the S&T Advisory Panel and an OSD Advisory Panel on developments in
the technology transfer area.
DDI Community
-The IPC is examining the feasibility of production agencies jointly
sponsoring/participating in analyst training programs.

National Intelligence Council
-NIO/AF attended a three-day seminar organized by State's African Bureau featuring
political risk analysts from around the country.
-NIO/NESA attended interagency review meetings on the military strategy component of
NSSD 4-82 (U.S. Strategy in the Middle East).

FY 1983 NFIP Budget - Proposed letters of appeal to the
Chairmen, HPSCI and SSCI, regarding adjustments by Congress
to the FY 1983 Authorization Bill have been provided to the
DDCI for review, pending resolution of one remaining GDIP
issue.
Counterintelligence -. Work progressing on, preparing '"' --- counter-
intelligence capabilities study called for in-NSSD=2:
National Space Policy - Final"working.group draft to be
considere at June meeting. NSC-level coordination to
follow.
PFIAB - Members of the Intelligence Community have been
requested to provide reports on actions taken as a result
of 1976 PFIAB recommendations.
