SUBJECT : ACDA Request on Verification Personnel
1. This memorandum requests your assistance.
2. Attached for your information and use is a copy of a memorandum to
the Director of Central Intelligence from the Director of the Arms Control and
Disarmament Agency. That memorandum asks for the number of professional
personnel assigned to arms control verification on a full-time basis. I am
told that ACDA wants the DCI's response to be for the Intelligence Community,
not just for CIA.
3. I propose that our Working Group jointly create the answer to ACDA's
request. I would like to discuss ACDA's request, and specifically the
mechanical details of the Working Group creating a response, and when, in our
meeting on Monday, 6 December 1982, when we discuss the Working Group.
