Approved For Release 2007/02/21: CIA-RDP83M00914R000700040093-3 The Director of Central Intelligence Washington. D.C. 20505 Intelligence Community Staff 19 February 1982 MEMORANDUM FOR: See Distribution Director, Office of Community Coordination Revised Revised HPSCI FY 1983 Hearing Schedule A. Memo dated 8 January 1982-HPSCI FY 1983 NFIP & TIARA Schedule B. Memo dated 4 February 1982-Revised HPSCI FY 1983 Hearing Schedule 1. The HPSCI's Program & Budget Authorization Subcommittee has, with some chagrin, advised that their hearing scheduled has changed again. This time the changes reflect a decision by the Armed Services Committee to accelerate consideration of the entire Defense Bill (or perhaps just to keep to a schedule which will allow early recess for campaigning). In any event, HPSCI's hearings are compressed, with various impacts upon the Community and the IC Staff. 2. Most importantly from a Staff perspective, the Federal Activities hearing originally scheduled for 29 April has been moved up to 6 April 1982, and shortened to one hour. 3. CIA's Office of External Affairs has been notified of the latest changes, and will reflect them in their next Community hearing schedule. For addressees' advance information, the changes are as follows: 2 March GDIP will still be presented beginning at 1330, but DoD/FCI will follow, and has been allotted 45 minutes. GDIP Staff is now planning to take 2 vice 3 hours. 8 March DMA will appear with DRSP. 22 March The CIAP will include CIA Special Activities, which had been scheduled for a separate hearing on 20 April. 25 March Navy TIARA and FBI/FCI will still split the day, but with a half-hour change, 0930-1200 and 1300-1430. Approved For Release 2007/02/21: CIA-RDP83M00914R000700040093-3 Approved For Release 2007/02/21: CIA-RDP83M00914R000700040093-3 1 April The morning session will hear Air Force TIARA but for 2 hours, the remainder being taken up by DARPA. 6 April As mentioned in paragraph 2 above, Federal Activities (which includes the IC Staff presentation) will be heard on the morning of the 6th. STAT will lead off, from 0930-1130, with Federal Activities from 1130-1230. 4. The NFIP Overview session is still scheduled for the morning of 23 February 1982, and TIARA will be presented in the afternoon. 5. There will be no hearing for the State, DEA, and DOE portions of the 6. Formal NFIP and TIARA wrap-uo sessions originally scheduled for 29 April 1982 have been dropped. 7. Addressees involved in preparation for hearings are reminded of the HPSCI requirement that statements for the record, witness lists, etc., are due three days before each hearing. Chairman Boland has reiterated the Committee's position that attendance at these hearings should be strictly limited. OCC is prepared to nominate one program monitor to attend each NFIP hearing as appropriate.
