Thank you for your letter of 28 April 1981 inviting me
to testify on the morning of 8 May before your Subcommittee
on Security and Terrorism. I am pleased to see that prompt
action is being taken on this very important piece of
legislation.
This is to inform you that I personally will appear
before the Subcommittee on that day. Personnel from my
Office of Legislative Counsel will be in touch with your
Chief Counsel to work out the details of my appearance. I
am quite hopeful that working together we can finally put an
end to the debilitating unauthorized disclosures of the
identities of our intelligence personnel.
