STAT
1 ) LEGISLATION Spoke with Pat Norton,
of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, to determine if
former Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger had been rescheduled to
stify regarding S. 2525 (intelligence charter legislation) after his
18 April scheduled testimony had been cancelled at the last minute.
Mr. Norton indicated that he was unable to reschedule Mr. Kissinger
for 19 April but would continue to try to reschedule him sometime in
the near future. Mr. Norton also indicated that there would be no
change in tho 19 April scheduled testimony of McGeorge Bundy, to
be held at 11:00 a. m. in room 357 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
I then asked Mr. Norton if he would need a list of Agency attendees for
the 12 May closed hearing on charter legislation. Mr. Norton said hc
hadn't thought about the matter but would get back to me after checking
on it. He called back later in the day and said he would appreciate
having such a list which could, according to Mr. Norton, be amended
up until just before the actual hearing as long as someone can and will
vouch for the newly added attendees.
3? I I LIAISON Called Mike Epstein, Senate
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, to make final arrangements for
delivery of Agency documents on KCIA which had been sent to Henry
Kissinger in the early 1970s. Epstein had told me the Committee would
interview Kissinger in closed session this afternoon and wanted the
documents to refresh Kissinger's memory. Epstein informed me that
due to a schedule problem they had met with Mr. Kissinger first thing
this morning and as a result he would not need me to deliver the documents.
