REMARKS
29 January 19 2
1. Between 11 and 17 December 1951, there was no flying at Staaken airfield. Th*
boundary lights were on.
2. Between 2:15 and 5 p.m. on 28 Decembers 2 twin-engine high-wing aanoplanes and 1
twin-engine, low-wing monoplane with a single rudder assembly were counted at the
field. I've hangars were closed. The radio installations were unchanged. No Soviet
soldiers were observed at the field.
3, About 10 aim. on 4 January, a twin-engine, high wing monoplane with two. radial
engines and single rudder Assembly took off heading north. Two men were observed
in the plexiglass nose. A white circle was painted on the redder assembly.
additional twin-engine planes were parked at the field..
. Bet*een 16 and 21 December, there was no flying at the field. Emery day after
B p.m., three multi-engine planes were heard coming in to land at intervals Qf
5 minutes,`TEe searchlights at the field, one of which rotated continually wb-le
the other one occasionally beamed its lights on to the landing strips were i
operation only during the landings. The tank installation on the northern edge of
the field was fenced in and guarded. Between 2 and 5 January, the field was still
occupied by an air unit.
25X1A # Comment. Staaken airfield is still occupied by a transport squadron. 1`
'exec strength has not been determined but appears to consist of about 5 LI-28
some Yak-11s and P0-2s. The twin-engine high-wing monoplane which took off on
4 January is probably a Ttt-2 which possibly made an intermediate landing at the
field since it was not observed previously with the unit.
