1. Double-fuselage Mane fitted with a ring (>ard into the fuselage,
faired with two covers attached to the fuselage.
The tail wheal was not retracted durinc.-. the
flight. K short rod, possibly a flexible weapon,
projected downward from the nose. Under the nose
was a black circular body attached to a curved
leg;
c. Jet planes (Annex 4) :

nozzle was seen at the rear of the fuselage. The
tail assembly, attached to thin tail booms, was
mounted high above the rear of the fuselage., swept-
back elevator assembly, angdhr tins, no dihedral.

(1) The craft is a mine-locating plane/with a magnetic
ring. . uoh aircraft were previously observed near
13.himki and ,itakhanovo . 1,.ear Khimki both Xu-52
(.usi) and twin-engine planes were seen . In
atakhanovo Li-2 or 1L-12 planes fitted with this
magnetic rind: were reportedly seen. If the obser-
vation concerning the double fuselage should be
correct, type 23 my be assumed to be put to a
new use.
(2) The sheoulder ?plane presumably is the .,rig Utka
fitted with the 4':I-11 engine. it biplane of this
type is not known.

wheel of the twin-engine plane shown in *nnex 3
indicate the IL-12 which was also used as a towing
craft on the _ioscow Air :how.
