vigilance." Some of the underground groups in Rumania at present are as
follows:

ao An organization known by the initials M.O.D.R. is active in and near
Barlad, in Moldavia.
ba Another organization which is known as Umbra (The Shadow) has been
actively sabotaging railroads and setting fires at various enterprises
and plants.
C. The Vlad Tepes II organization (Vlad Tepes, the Impaler, prince of
Wallachia from 1456-1462) had been led by Colonel Victor Lupan and
Gheorge Balane Both were arrested; ('olonel Lupan was executed on
2]. June 1951, but Balan escaped.
