The roads in the immediate vicinity of Muntele Mic are guarded by Soviet unius. The following are details on roads leading to the Muntele Mic area I a. Caransebes-Carpa-Bolvasnita road has been extended to the top of Muntele Mic. The extension of this road passes a point which is located between peaks 979 and 1573, b. The Caransebes-Turnu railroad line has been I-*Xtended west approximately three miles. c. The Caransebes Nou-Barlova (sic) highway has been extended to Muntele ifiic. de A new highway leading toward Poiana Marului has been built. This road, before reaching Poiana, leads to Muntele Mic by three different routes, all, permitting heavy trucks. These routes branch off from Otelul Hosu (formerly Ferdinand) and Poiana Marului. e. A narrow gauge railroad line leads from Poiana ;arului to the western slopes of Muntele Mic where'the Soviets have built concreLe shelters which serve, prescritly, as supply depots. 2m In October 1951, at least five antiaircraft artillery. batteries were in position at Sinaia. The guns resemble German 88 millimeter artillery guns. The location of three of those batteries is as follows: a. Between Podul Moroienilor and Calea Codrului roads, west of Sinaia. b. The cable car was installed in June 19510 b.
