SUBJECT : Photo Interpreter Resources Study

1. In July 1977, the Policy Review Committee for Intelligence
(PRC) (I) directed a study of the Community photo interpreter re-
sources. Central objectives of this study were:
To do a fundamental review, from a Community
perspective, of PI-related requirements and
the tasking, organizations, and PI resources
needed to respond in the most effective manner.
? To recommend any needed changes to the current
tasking, management, organizational structures,
and staffing.
This study, done under the auspices of the IC Staff, has now been
completed and has been disseminated to the Community for review and
comment. A copy of this study, for review within your office, is
attached.
2. The specific findings and recommendations of the study group
(Section IV, pages IV-1 through 11-29) cover such subjects as:
? the need for revision of the National Tasking Plan;
? collection and exploitation tasking;
