Approved For R&ease 1999/09/10 : CIA-RDP78-0Q67A000100170013-8 2 December 1966 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD: SUBJECT: The Brookings Conference for Federal Executives on Business Operations The DDTR was notified yesterday, 1 December 1966, by the Executive Director-Comptroller that John Clarke, D/PPB, Could not be spared, because of pressure of duties, to attend the Brookings Conference for Federal Executives on Business Opera- tions scheduled to be held 4 - 9 December 1966 at Los Angeles and San Francisco. Colonel White informed us that he had, already called Mr. Walter Held of Brookings to explain the situation and express regrets. Mr. Held was considerate and understanding and indicated. that the Agency could provide a replacement for Mr. Clarke if we so desired.. Inasmuch as Agency representation at this conference is considered desirable, OTR proposed. that _ 25X1A9a 25X1A9a = Deputy Director of Logistics, be designated to attend. This 25X1A9a solution was judged feasible since Mr. had already been ac- 25X1A9a cepted. by Brookings for, a later conference in the same series. Rapid coordination verified that our plan was acceptable to Colonel White, Mr. ~ the Director of Logistics, and the Brookings Institution. The Registrar Staff is now following through, on an expedite basis, with the required administrative actions. _Tiv 11 r- C A t (.6. k 1,, U 44 25X1A9a -oWA.r CL 6 efl- r / o 25X1A9a ILLEGIB 7'/,F E ,Z - 7 / n2 rL G ( C csac r~lc v t E 77 ejcy r-2is ~l ~Cc k ~~ oa re kf c N~-. -
