All courses are held at DASA's Sandia Base. The purpose of the NWCD is to acquaint selected military and civilians (GS-12 and above) with critical details of nuclear weapons design, and test results required as a basis for decision making affecting the design of nuclear weapons systems. For the FSI Area Seminars beginning 5 October, we have the following employees enrolled; Africa, Sub-Sahara -two (OBGI, OER); Communist China -six 4NPIC); Latin America -one (OCI); and Near East and North Africa -one - 5. We had three employees enrolled in the IBM S/360 OS Workshop Course beginning 28 September, two from RID and one from OCS. The cost of the program is $1, 500. 00 per person. Upon being asked to sign the one-year Training Agreement, the two RID students refused. Their reason; "they couldn't decide on such short notice what they were going to do with their lives for the next year. " The RI Training Officer explained the conditions of the agreement, that t:he continued service was with the Agency and not necessarily RID, etc. Both have been canceled from the course. The OCS man was reassigned and no longer needs the course so he, too, canceled. 6. T:he next National Interdepartmental Seminar (NIS} is scheduled for 2 November. All Training Officers have been informed of this running and the schedule through next May via the Weekly Newsletter. 25X1A9a 25X1A9a 8, called AIR, with detailed questions about the composition an . ayout of the OTR Catalog. _ likes the publicatio:e and would like to "steal" some of the techniques used.
