Morning Meeting of 5 December 1968
DD/I provided a list of employees whose Agency affiliation was
identified in connection with their publishing in various journals over
the past six months.
DD/I advised that the Task Force
report is negative.

Godfrey reported that a Cuban naval flotilla is still engaged in
maneuvers in the harbor of Santiago de Cuba.
Carver noted that the agreed strength figures on the NVA were
used in a DIA enemy strength study done at the request of Secretary
Clifford.
*Maury noted that Bill Woodruff is prepared to ensure that our
Senate committee will raise the matter of George Wilson's access to
sensitive information the next time the Director testifies should the
Director so wish. In this connection, the Director asked the DD/S&T
to get together with in order to prepare a briefing paper on
the matter of George Wilson's articles.

Maury advised that Congressman Rivers and staff are still
worried about whether there is a Cuban plot behind the hijacking
incidents.
Houston briefed on the case of impersonation of a CIA officer,
which is going to trial in Pennsylvania.
DDCI reminded that the Navy will be on hand in force at Head-
quarters next Wednesday in that three Vice Admirals and fourteen
Rear Admirals, who comprise the top advisors to the Chief of Naval
Operations, will be on hand for a day's briefing. The Director agreed
to join the group during an informal discussion between 1530 and 1600.

Goodwin noted that Andreas Papandreou let loose at CIA among
others at yesterday's session of the International Association for
Cultural Freedom and that George Ball effectively parried him.
