South Vietnamese forces have recaptured the border outpost at Plei
Djereng, referred to as Le Minh in some press and official reporting. Gov-
ernment units encountered little enemy resistance, suggesting that the Com-
munists anticipated the attack and withdrew from the area. One press report,
however, says some government units en route to reinforce the camp clashed
with a Communist force late yesterday. While there are no indications that
the Communists are planning to contest the government's move seriously at
this time, they may be waiting for some future opportunity when the South
Vietnamese have relaxed.
Elsewhere in the country, fighting remains light.-
