1. (Unclassified - NDL) EMPLOYMENT REQUEST Per her
earlier request, I mailed to Mrs. Edmondson, in the Knoxville, Tennessee
district office of Senator Howard H. Baker (R. , Tenn. ), an Agency brochure
and employment application form for one of their constituents.
2. (Unclassified - NDL) LIAISON Received a call from Lorraine
Huang, in the office of Senator Alan D.
Cranston (D. , Calif. ), who said

Ms. Huang said that

letter had stated that this was a matter the FBI should deal
with and they wanted to send the constituent's letter to the
FBI but that

I confirmed with
that we in fact did have the constituent's letter in our possession and
asked her to forward it on to Ms. Huang.
3. (Unclassified - NDL) EMPLOYMENT REQUEST Per her
request, I sent to Kim Baxter, in the office of Representative Ronald A.
Sarasin (R., Conn. ), an Agency brochure and employment application
form for one of their constituents.
4. (Unclassified - NDL) LIAISON Per the request of Doris,
Senate Armed Services Committee staff, I sent four more copies of
the Agency publication entitled "A Dollar Cost Comparison of Soviet
and US Defense Activities, 1967-77" to the Committee, attention Frank
Sullivan, Staff Director.
5. (Unclassified - ME) FOIA/LIAISON Spoke with Janet, in the
office of Representative Lloyd Meeds (D., Wash.), who was calling on behalf
of a constituent (unnamed) who is seeking file on himself from FBI and CIA.
I suggested to Janet that she forward the request directly to us, rather than
handle by phone, and our Information and Privacy Coordinator would seek
any further information he might need in order to properly process the
request. She will send the letter to us.

forwarded to Stan Taylor, of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
staff, a paper entitled, "Systemic Problems in Int lli ence Analysis on
the Soviet Union" which was forwarded to us from of OTR. 25X1
7. OIA At the request of I called 25X1
Tom Packer, in the District o ? ice of Representative Henry Waxman (D., Calif.),
and provided him with the name and address of our Information and
Privacy Coordinator to satisfy a constituent request regarding a
MKULTRA related report which is available under the FOIA.
8. I I LIAISON I called Hank Udow, on the
staff of Representative William Lehman (D., Fla.), in response to his
earlier request for assistance in responding to a constituent letter.
The constituent explained that he had been a member of DOD 157 and
explained that its mission was to rescue Soviet dissidents in the mid-1960' s.
I told Udow that this was not an Agency organization. We then discussed
how he could write a response to the constituent.
9. I LIAISON Bob Beckel, White House
staff, called to advise of tn.e sracus of the White House contribution relating
to the Bayh/Goldwater letter of 7 February 1978 on U. S. intelligence
activities in Panama.

10. LIAISON Called Fred Baron, Department
of Justice, to determine what arrangements had been concluded between
the Attorney General and the House Leadership on further access by the
House International Relations Subcommittee on International Organizations
(Fraser Subcommittee) to documents concerning According to 25X1
Baron, the possible staff problem was also broached and further access
is to be controlled according to an agreed access list but the dealings would
be directly with the Fraser Subcommittee.
11.1 I LIAISON Henry Myers, on the
staff of the House Interior and nsu ar Affairs Subcommittee on Energy &
the Environment, called and we made arrangements for Thursday,
16 February, at 1:30 p.m. for he and Richard Arenb the staff of
Representative Paul Tsongas (D., Mass.) to review ocuments.
I said we would permit Arenberg to participate in the review along with
Myers and Jim Beck, also of the Subcommittee staff.

13. (Unclassified - JMD) LIAISON Called Kendie Stewart, in
the office of Senator Malcolm Wallop (R., Wyo.), to arrange an
appointment for the Director and the Senator to discuss the DDO cuts.
We could not come up with a mutually convenient time and agreed to get
back in touch with each other tomorrow after checking our calendars and
nrincinals again.
15. (Unclassified - RSG) LIAISON Kenneth Klein, Dan Hardway, and
Leslie Wizelman, House Select Committee on Assassinations staff, visited
Headquarters to review Agency documents.

Services Committee staff, called and asked for the translation of the
twenty-two page Pravda article on SALT. I returned his call, told him
that this was available through the Library of Congress.

Policies and Constraints. " I called Mr. Warner and told him that I was
forwarding this document, classified Secret, and believed that it would
satisfy his needs.

27. (Unclassified - MMP) LIAISON Bill Ashworth, Senate
Foreign Relations Committee staff, called asking whether we have a
translation of the 5, 000 word Pravda article on SALT that was referred 5X1
to in Sunday's Washington Post. After checking with FBIS/Liaiso
I I told him that it was available through the FBIS wire at the Library
of Uongress, starting with Item #38.
28. (Unclassified - MMP) LIAISON Terry Finn, on the staff of
the Senate Budget Committee, called with a request for a paper, preferably
unclassified, on the potential for world oil in 1980. After checking with
, NFAC /CSS, I told him that there would be an eventual update
(not particularly soon, though) of the April 1977 - International Energy
Situation: Outlook to 1985 paper. I asked him whether he received the
Bi-weekly Statistical Supplement and after he told me that he did not,
I istered his name for subsequent receipt of this publication with
NFAC /CSS.
