The attached proposed letter to Lieutenant General
Francis Griswold, Commandant, National War College,
is in response to his letter to the Director in which he
advised that a counter-insurgency course will be con-
ducted at the National War College from 11 June until
23 un 1962. General Griswold requested that C
resent assignment at the College be extended
until 30 June 1962 in order that he might serve as an
instructor in the course. He also requested that the
Agency designate four students to attend the course.
