Press reports indicate fighting continued, and a North Yemeni military spokesman says that South Yemeni aircraft attacked North Yemeni positions in the Qatabah area again. The political committee formed by the Arab League Foreign Ministers on Monday to mediate between the two Yemens apparently will meet in Sana this weekend, prob- ably on Sunday. Kuwaiti press reports suggest the com- mittee will attempt to arrange a summit conference be- tween North and South Yemen in Kuwait. North Yemeni For- eign Minister Asnaj was quoted by Kuwait radio yesterday as saying that his country will not agree to summit-level talks until South Yemeni forces withdraw from North Yemeni. territory. The military supervisory committee, formed by the Arab League to oversee a cease-fire between the two Yemens, reportedly will be led by Syrian Defense Minister Talas and will consist of 12 military personnel each from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, and the Palestine Liberation Organization. This committee apparently will travel to Sana and Aden late this week. In addition to this group, a Kuwaiti official claims that Arab League members have agreed to send a 600-man force to the border area to verify the cease-fire.
