My query to Cline was, what would Cline tell we here 25x1 at the Agency referred to Cline. Cline said he would tell him that the 25x1 bill is dead, that there is no good precedent and that similar cases have been turned down. I provided a short rundown of developments since the Director's briefing of the Committee on 8 February and Mr. Carver covered in some depth the current situation in Indochina. Characteristically Mr. Nedzi asked a number of thoughtful and probing questions and seemed satisfied with Mr. Carver's answers. See Memo for Record. JOHN M.
