Peter Stockton, esearc er, Subcommittee on Energy & Power,
House Committee on Interstate & Foreign Commerce, who wanted
a report on progress made toward a riefing for the 25X1
Subcommittee. I advised him that the letter from the Director to
Chairman John D. Dingell (D., Mich.) - -which we had discussed
earlier--was presently on its way into the Director's office for
.signature. I assured Mr. Stockton I would keep him informed of
developments as they occur.
11. THIRD AGENCY Received a telephone call
from Michael Smith, NSA, who inquired into the procedures we have
followed in clearing congressional staffers in accordance with

Transportation, to brief him on compartmented clearances for which
security approval has been granted. Stewart executed the appropriate
secrecy oaths.

the office of Representative Dale E. Kildee (D., Mich.), the unclassified
Agency publication entitled "World Steel Market Continued Trouble Ahead,"
per her request.
