(Confidential - JMM) Met with Ed Braswell and Jim Woolsey, Senate Armed Services Committee staff, and reviewed plans for tomorrow's appearance of the Director before the Committee in regard to allegations by Andrew St. George in Harper's magazine. Woolsey and I met with Senator Stuart Symington to review plans for tomorrow's hearing. 11. (Unclassified - RJK) Provided Deborah Wilkes, on the staff of Senator Edmund S. Muskie (D. Me.), an oral response to the Senator's letter in behalf of an applicant, She agreed that no written 25X1A response would be necessary. 12. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Delivered to the office of Senator Hubert H. Humphrey (D., Minn.) an FBIS item in which his name was mentioned. 13. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Delivered to J. G. Sourwine, Chief Counsel, Subcommittee on Internal Security, Senate Judiciary Committee, a directory of international Communist front organizations as he had requested. 14. (Unclassified - RJK) Delivered to Kathy Nelson, in the office of Senator Stuart Symington (D. , Mo. ),.the Director's response to a letter the Senator had sent to him. Also provided Jim Woolsey, Senate Armed Services Committee, with a copy. 15. (Confidential - JGO) At the request of Lawrence Houston, OGC, I talked briefly with Herb Roback, uc?ge Government Operations Committee staff, and told him of the letter from Chairman Jack Brooks, Subcommittee on Government Activities, to Arthur Sampson, Administrator, GSA, concerning Agency disposition of SAT and Air America. I told Roback that a copy had been forwarded directly to us by Brooks. Roback thanked me for the advice but said it was a Subcommittee matter that has not come to his attention.
