Staff, on Current Intelligence Items.
1. During my meeting with Ralph Preston, House Appropriations
Committee Staff, today I briefed him on the following items of current
intelligence interest:
a. Movement of Libyan mirages to Egypt and beginning
Egyptian flight operations in Lybian mirages.
b. Italian ground force equipment for Libya.
c. Chinese production of MIG-21.
d. Chinese SCT-1 ICBM.
e. Chinese airfield construction and hardened
aircraft facilities.
f. Soviet second OTH detection radar, missile testing,
and Salyut 2.
g. Withdrawal of Pakistani pilots from Libya.
h. NVN repair of small airfields in SVN and Laos.
