The ORPS publishes a daily newspaper}, True (labor), to which every union member
must subscribe. The newspaper pursues a policy of praising Soviet labor and
urging the Bulgarian workers to increase both the quality and quantity. of
production by following the Soviet example.
The KllIment Voroshilov Electrical. Equipment Factory in Sofia has a chapter of
the Electrical Workerts Union, an affiliate of the ORPS;. members are issued an
(BPS membership card. The chapter has nearly 3.9500. members,. slightly less than
the total personnel of the factory; membership is "voluntary." The factory is
subdivided, into 16 departments and each department has its own branch of the
union. The smallest units of the union are brigades (brigada), each of Mich
have a brigadier in charge. Each two brigades have a treasurer whosemain duty
is to collect the union dues. The'brigade treasurers give the dues to the branch
