DATE DISTR. 2 December 1952X1 NO. OF PAGES 2 NO. OF ENCLS. (LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT NO. THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 1. Between 10 and 15 percent of the KBW officers listen to the VOA broadcasts. Although they do not directly state that they are VOA listeners, one Can tell from conversations with them or lectures given by than, that they have heard VOA broadcasts. These Officers apparently believe much of what they hear in the broadcasts since they do not sound too convincing when they condemn the broadcasts as nothing but lies. It would be impossible to determine the true effect of VOA broadcasts on members of the Polish Internal Security Forces since they do not dare admit openly that they are VOA listeners'nor do they discuss what they have heard over the VOA for fear of persecution by the regimes CLASSIFICATION SECRET j DISTRIBUTION if 1 7C AIR X FBI A.~.~.~_.~ 11"^... The internal situation in Poland and ration card problems, both favorite Polish radio topics, present little interest to the average man, 25X1 $, the best time for listening to VOA broad- casts is the period between 2200 and 2400 hours, Jamming is less intense during these hours and the broadcasts come through more clearly, Approved For Release 2006/08/08 : CIA-RDP82-00457RO15000340010-1
