During May and Ju.ne,1952, the UIN 31-45 Trudovak company, whose headquarters are
in Ivaylovgrad, constructed trenches from Odrinzi (N4126 E26o9) northwest toward
viratschi,. The trenches, located several,hundred meters west of Byalopolyane
(N4127 E2610) and about three kilometers from the Greek border, are approximately
four kilometers long, 1.2 meters deep, and one meter wide. Machine gun emplace-
ments have been constructed along the trenches. Six bunkers have been built in
Sviratschi and two in the Odrinzi area.
1. From November 1951 to May 1952, trenches were constructed from Ivaylovgrad
25X1 (N4133 b26o7) to the Ards, River. The trencheslbuilt in a zig-zag pattern, are
1.2 meters, deep and one meter wide. Machine gun emplacements were constructed
approximately 40 meters in front of the trenches. A large number of underground
25X1 bunkers nine meters long, five'meters wide, and four meters deep, were also built
in the Ivaylovgrad area.
3. Late in June 1952, the men of the UIN 31-45 Trudovak company were transferred: to
Malka Odina. (sic) to work on the construction of trenches in that area.
