In early April 1952, eight Czechs visited all the Installations of the eiss r lant in Jena '(t' 51/s+ 66), except. the assembly shop in the southern section of the plant, where f-1 type air force training sets are manufactured. The Czechs who came from Prague were members of the Committee for Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Eastern Germany and Czechoslovakia. This corr.ittee is said to be subordinate to the Central State Planning 11.-,ard in Prague. The management of the :.eiss plant did not welcome this visit because the Czechs,, who were accompanied by a Russian from Berlin, demanded that they be shown construction drawings and be informed of production methods. 20 In late ay 1952, some foremen of the Zeiss slant, the chief designer, Dr EvnstOuveno' and interpreter Jahn (fnu) were asked by Soviet it Force officers to go to the airfields in Zerbst and e7ittstock in order to repair some A-1 type air force training; sets t=- ere. The group returned after several dais. Jahn stated that the motors of some A-1 sets had to be replaced because of damage. He further said that only one A-1 set was available in the instruction room so that he could not determine how many sets were it operation at each field. 25X1 25X1 3, :\irther orders for A-1 type air force training sets have been received from the U.S.S.R. and China? The entire set consists of several units most of which are operated by special electric motors. :.:any of the orders received ask for the delivery of potentiometers which are not available at present. L On 29 arch 1952, a meeting was held in the Zeiss plant to discuss an acceleration of the delivery of ;,-1 type air force training sets.
