L June the PTyo gyang prison., in three underground rooms at approximately YD-388212, Kirimmni, and under the control of the Ministry of the Interior, was detaining approximately nine hundred persons, including political and economic offenders and R OK intelligence agents. 2. The prisoners, who were not coagipelled to work out were -restricted to the prison, received 3 meals each day of soup., salt, and 400 grams of grain. 3. The prison was receiving approximately 25 persons each month and releasing approximately 65.persons each month. An average of two persons were dying daily in the prison. 5. The prison employed fifty jailers and eighty office workers. United Nations bombardment destroyed the former prison at Yong&mmri (possibly--125-113, 39019; YD-3455)., Plyongyang. After the United Nations retreat from the PQyongr g area, the prison was opened in Kirir ni. In December 1.950 approximately one thousand North Korean prisoners who were not being held on political offenses or serious economic offenses were conscripted into the North Korean army.
