soring the first World Conference on Records.
Society will surely benefit from your timely
idea to bring together both those who use rec-
ords and those who preserve them to discuss
matters of common concern. You serve not
only this country but all humanity as you focus
international attention on man's considerable
reliance on the documentary heritage of his
planet.
The doubts and difficulties of our revolution-
ary modern age make it imperative that we
not ignore the lessons of history, and that we
not neglect the archives that encompass the
drama of human experience.
So to all who attend the World Conference on
Records, I extend my very best wishes for a
rewarding session -- and my hope that from
your deliberations will come new initiatives
for the effective preservation of archives,

We are happy to have you visiting with us. While
you are in Utah I hope that you can take time to travel
through our State. You will discover some of the most
spectacular scenery on the face of the earth.
Besides the- beauty of the Salt Lake Valley, Temple
Square and the other scenery you see around you in this
part of Utah, there are many diverse and different scenes
outside this area. Utah offers some of the West's finest
fishing and hunting and the challenge of rugged country for
the climber. For the less energetic visitor, Utah's red-
rock deserts and high mountain timber and lake country are
quickly and easily accessible by car and offer a variety of
accommodations.
We hope you enjoy your stay with us. Best wishes
for a successful Conference and do try to see as much of

CONCERT -UTAH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The Utah Symphony Orchestra - one of the top twelve
symphonic organizations in the United States (Fortune
Magazine) - will present a concert of popular symphonic
favorites especially planned for World Conference on Records
visitors. The event will take place in the new air-conditioned
Salt Palace, August 6, 1969 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be pur-
chased at the Salt Palace ticket office.

A concert by the Tabernacle Choir will be given Thursday
evening, August 7, in the famed Mormon Tabernacle. This
concert will be complimentary. However, tickets will be re-
quired so that adequate seating can be assured to those wish-
ing to attend.
SINGING MOTHERS' CONCERT
The Singing Mother's concert which will be held on Wed-
nesday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the Mormon
Tabernacle on Temple Square is open to all conference vis-
itors. This is a complimentary concert. Approximately 400
women of all ages comprise the choir. Also will be heard
the famous Tabernacle organist, Alexander Shreiner, in a
program-on the great organ. The choir is conducted by Mrs.
Ellen Barnes of New York City. Tickets for the concert may
be obtained at the information desk in the registration area
of the Salt Palace.
MORMON HANDICRAFT BAZAAR
A bazaar of Mormon handicraft will be held in various areas
of the city on Wednesday, August 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is open to all conference visitors. There is no admission
fee. Transportation will be provided from the Salt Palace.
Information may be obtained at the information desk in the
registration area.
This star-studded attraction will be a once-in-a-lifetime op-
portunity for Conference visitors to view the world-famous
Brigham Young University collegiate entertainment shows,
featuring: the famous International Folk Dancers who have
toured the Orient, Europe four times, and throughout
America, and won international prizes and competition
awards, even from Queen Elizabeth. Thunderous, standing
ovations are their trademark. Their speciality: dances of all
nations - in the costumes of each individual nation. Round-
ing out this evening will be some of the greatest individual
variety talent over the years of Brigham Young University:
Sam Thompson, operatic tenor; Fred Blackburn, Ohio State
Marimba Champion; The Olson Sisters, popular jazz singers
and All-American College Show (CBS) winners; Kiera Lewis,
amazing ventriloquist, and Roy and June Mavor, interna-
tional ballroom dance champions.

Granite Mountain Records Vault - Genealogical Society Library
Conference visitors will have the opportunity to visit the famed Granite
Mountain Records Vault. Buses will leave every half an hour on the
hour. The entire trip will take about two hours. Please check at the
information desk for exact schedules.
Tours will also be conducted of the Genealogical Society Library.
Special hours of the library have been set at 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

early Utah. Utah's past unfolds as the visitor turns his back
on the 20th Century and steps into a country town of 50-
100 years ago.

Lunch at the famous and beautiful Sunken Gardens adja-
cent to Pioneer Village.

Fashion show of 1969 and the 1880's. Authentic fashions of
the 1880's will be worn by lovely models. The show will be
held in the outdoor grove of the Sunken Gardens. These ele-
gant fashions are presented through the courtesy of Mrs.
Virgil Bluth of Mapleton, Utah, couture by ZCMI, Utah's

Singing Mothers' Concert to be held in the historic Mormon
Tabernacle on Temple Square. Approximately 400 women
of all ages comprise the "Singing Mothers' Choir." Also will
be heard the famous Tabernacle Organist, Alexander

ducted by Mrs. Ellen Barnes of New York City.

canyons, Heber Valley and on to Park City. All the authen-
tic qualities of the booming old mining days live again in the
Park City of today. The charm and atmosphere which ex-

fashioned melodrama; ride the gondola to the mountains and
enjoy a 50-mile view of the valleys and mountains. Attire
