JOURNAL
OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
Monday - 18 May 1970
1. Met with Bill Woodruff, Counsel, Senate
Appropriations Committee, and reviewed with him arrangements for
tomorrows budget hearing. Woodruff was not sure that the session would
go over to the afternoon and said if it would be more convenient for the
Director they could carry the morning session until 1:00 p.m, in hopes
that an afternoon session would not be necessary. He mentioned that a
question might be raised on the Radios. He feels that a cut is inevitable
and that the Radios are the logical items to look to. He said if the Director
had any problems with a discussion on the Radios to let him know. He
also said that we should expect a question on what effect a SALT agreement
would have on us. All of the above was passed on to Colonel White and
Mr. Clarke.
2. Left for Ed Braswell, Senate Armed
Services Committee staff, a new book of page-size maps and a number
of separate small maps on Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Indochina.
3. Picked up from the Senate Constitutional
Rights Subcommittee a copy of S. 782 as amended in the Judiciary Committee.
